Essential oils are certainly having their day at the moment, and for good reason. Essential oils help to revitalise your sense of smell, the most sensitive of our 5 senses. Smells have such powerful connections to memories. An example of this is using your chosen oil while studying, and then during the exam, may help promote memory recall. At Happy Healthy Women we only recommend Perfect Potion essential oils.
Quality is super important
There are a large number of essential oils available on the market, the quality of which can vary greatly. This makes it important to read labels when purchasing. Some examples of a lower quality oil:
- If the label does not say 100% essential oils you are not dealing with essential oil, you are dealing with a synthetic, man made fragrance. Fragrances are potentially toxic. 1. A ‘study, by the University of Melbourne, found that one in three Australians report adverse health effects from fragranced products, including breathing problems, migraine headaches, skin irritation and asthma attacks.’
- If the oils are not 100% certified organic. Organic essential oils are important to us at Happy Healthy Women as this helps to ensure that the plants that the oils are derived from have been cultivated without the use of fertilisers or synthetic pesticides. This helps to ensure the finest quality oils are produced. Perfect Potion uses 100% organic essential oils wherever possible.

Ingredients Explained
- Pelargonium graveolens (geranium) oil. The fresh, herbaceous and floral scent of geranium is harmonising and comforting.
- Rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) oil. The fresh herbaceous scent of rosemary essential oil is strengthening and invigorating. Rosemary essential oil is valuable for the maintenance of healthy hair and scalp.
- Citrus sinensis (orange, sweet) oil. The fresh, citrus scent of sweet orange conveys a sense of warmth and joy. It nourishes the soul with feelings of joy. May be used for the relief of stress, nervous tension, mild anxiety and insomnia.
- Cedrus atlantica (cedarwood, Atlas) oil certified organic. The woody, balsamic scent of Atlas cedarwood has a soothing, grounding and harmonising effect.
- Citrus bergamia (bergamot) oil. The refreshing, sweet citrus scent of bergamot is uplifting and refreshing. It helps people regain self confidence and uplifts the spirit.
- Pogostemom cablin (patchouli) oil. The rich, earthy scent of patchouli is grounding, soothing, and especially valuable for ‘dreamers’ and people who tend to neglect or feel detached from their physical body. In skincare it is used for dry, cracked or chapped skin.
- Santalum spicatum (sandalwood, Australian) oil. A sweet delicate woody scent that promotes serenity and instills inner calm.
- Mentha piperita (peppermint) oil. The powerful, zesty scent of peppermint is emotionally refreshing, clarifying and awakening. When used in Outdoor Body Spray Natural Insect Repellent peppermint oil offers effective repellent activity against mosquitoes.
- Lavandula angustifolia (lavender) oil. The fresh floral scent of lavender is harmonising and calming. It promotes compassion and healing.
- Vetiveria zizanioides (vetiver) oil. The heavy woody-earthy scent of vetiver is grounding and balancing.It is referred to as the ‘oil of tranquility’. It connects us to the earth’s energies. It may be used for oily and devitalised skin.
- Cananga odorata (ylang ylang) oil. The rich floral scent of ylang ylang is euphoric, passionate, sensuous and uplifting. It is intensely charismatic and bewitching, and it creates feelings of peace and dispels anger.
- Origanum majorana (marjoram, sweet) oil. The warm scent of sweet marjoram is comforting and warming.
Directions
Bring the ocean into your day the best way you see fit:
- Add 5-7 drops of Umi Blend to your oil burner or diffuser to create a beautiful scent throughout your space.
- Add 3-5 drops to your favourite jewellery diffuser necklace to take the ocean with you wherever you go.
- Add 3-5 drops to your favourite car diffuser to add some ocean to your drive.
- Add 5 drops to every 10ml of pure vegetable oil to use as a massage oil.
- Keep out of reach of children, for external use only.
